This batik work has a white background wherein the crackle effect, the most attractive characteristic of batik, is shown in best light. The artist has used tribal motifs to display his art. Not only the motifs he has also borrowed the simplicity of line, colours and theme. It shows the frontal stance of the woman with her face in profile as she looks towards the peacock resting on a high bar. She wears floral earrings, nose ring and flowers in her hair. She wears cloths with circular or semi-circular designs. The stand on which the bird rests is decorated with geometric patterns in bright-colours. The bird is simply made with a round face and a pointed beak. Its feathers are shown in mushroom shaped design.
As in most tribal and folk art, the depictions are more simplistic than naturalistic.
