Based on the canons of Guler school, the artist depicts a virahini nayika here; who is separated from her lover, suffering from anxiety and love longings. The passion and the loneliness as embodied in the figure of the nayika standing by herself pervade the entire work. The artist does not make bright colours a tool to make his work noticed. He uses the same green colour to depict the translucent skirt and a lighter shade for the transparent odhini. He depicts the eyes like small lotus buds, and a faint smile hovers over her face adding charm to it. The dark tresses fall on her back in a serpentine coil. She wears elaborate earrings, a head ornament, necklaces, bangles, anklets etc. Tall, fair and slim, there is a serene beauty about her. She is caressing her long, unruly hair. The action gives a lyrical movement to the figure.
The artist has paid great attention to the drawing and has drawn each outline carefully with many ornamental details of costumes and ornaments. The drawing of the figure, however, is basic.
