The Cosmic Dance of Creation

The image of Nataraja is not merely aesthetic; it is a visual representation of complex philosophical concepts within Hinduism. Shiva's dance, the Tandava, is believed to be the source of all movement in the universe. With every step and gesture, he sustains the cosmos, keeping it in perpetual motion. The dance is performed within a flaming halo, the Prabhamandala, which signifies the boundaries of the universe and the constant cycle of birth and death. Symbolism in Form

Nataraja's four arms each hold specific objects and make particular gestures (mudras).
