Illuminating the Sacred

This piece is not merely a lamp; it is a conduit to the divine, a tangible representation of the inner light we seek to connect with. Crafted from shining brass, the lamp’s design evokes a sense of timelessness and spiritual significance. The seven wicks, each poised to illuminate, symbolize the potential to awaken the seven chakras, energy centers believed to reside within the subtle body, thereby igniting a path toward enlightenment and self-realization. The warm glow emanating from each wick represents the banishment of darkness and ignorance, inviting prosperity, knowledge, and positive energy into the space it occupies. It is a beacon of hope, a source of comfort, and a reminder of the eternal flame that burns within each of us.

The Seven Flames of Auspiciousness

The use of seven wicks is no coincidence. In many traditions, the number seven carries profound significance. It represents completeness, perfection, and divine order. The seven rishis, the Saptarishi, are revered sages in Hindu cosmology, considered the mind-born sons of Brahma, the creator. Lighting seven wicks can be seen as an offering to these wise beings, invoking their blessings and guidance. The seven flames may also be linked to the seven sacred rivers of India – Ganga, Yamuna, Saraswati, Sindhu, Godavari, Narmada, and Kaveri – each representing purity and spiritual cleansing. As the light flickers, one can visualize the purifying currents of these rivers flowing through the space, washing away negativity and stagnation. Beyond Hindu tradition, the number seven appears in many cultures and spiritual beliefs.

Craftsmanship & Devotion

The brass construction is a testament to durability and timelessness. Brass, a metal revered for its auspicious qualities, is believed to attract positive vibrations and enhance spiritual practices. The lamp is carefully cast and finished, ensuring a smooth and lustrous surface that reflects the light beautifully, creating a mesmerizing ambiance. Whether suspended during a grand puja or utilized for daily prayers, the light serves as a potent reminder of the interconnectedness of all things and the power of devotion. It is more than just a source of light, it is a tangible link to the divine, a cherished heirloom that can be passed down through generations.

How to keep a Brass statue well-maintained?

Brass statues are known and appreciated for their exquisite beauty and luster. The brilliant bright gold appearance of Brass makes it appropriate for casting aesthetic statues and sculptures. Brass is a metal alloy composed mainly of copper and zinc. This chemical composition makes brass a highly durable and corrosion-resistant material. Due to these properties, Brass statues and sculptures can be kept both indoors as well as outdoors. They also last for many decades without losing all their natural shine.

Brass statues can withstand even harsh weather conditions very well due to their corrosion-resistance properties. However, maintaining the luster and natural beauty of brass statues is essential if you want to prolong their life and appearance.

  • The best and simplest way to maintain a brass statue is to clean it at least twice a week using a soft cloth or cotton rag. This will prevent dust from accumulating on the surface. Dusting is especially important for outdoor statues since it is prone to dust accumulation much more than indoors.

  • To give a natural shine and luster to the statue, you may apply coconut or olive oil using cotton on every portion. You can use a toothbrush to get to the small crevices but do not be too harsh. This will make the brass statue appear fresh and new with a polished look.

  • In case you have a colored brass statue, you may apply mustard oil using a soft brush or clean cloth on the brass portion while for the colored portion of the statue, you may use coconut oil with a cotton cloth.

Brass idols of Hindu Gods and Goddesses are especially known for their intricate and detailed work of art. Nepalese sculptures are famous for small brass idols portraying Buddhist deities. These sculptures are beautified with gold gilding and inlay of precious or semi-precious stones. Religious brass statues can be kept at home altars. You can keep a decorative brass statue in your garden or roof to embellish the area and fill it with divinity.
