A Sacred Space

Invite a touch of the divine into your home with this meticulously crafted brass structure. It is more than just a decorative piece; it's an invitation to create a personal sacred space, a miniature temple where intentions can be set and peace can be found. Its carefully considered design allows for the display of deities, murtis, or other treasured items of spiritual significance. The warm, earthy tones of the brass lend an air of antiquity and reverence, instantly transforming any space into a place of contemplation. The structure consists of three graceful arches supported by elegant posts, resting upon a solid base adorned with intricately detailed circular designs. Each element contributes to the overall sense of balance and harmony, qualities central to many spiritual traditions. Imagine placing your most cherished objects within this framework, bathed in the soft glow of candlelight, creating a serene atmosphere for meditation or prayer.

The Temple and the Cosmos

Temples, in many cultures, are considered microcosms of the universe. Their design often reflects the understanding of the cosmos, mirroring the celestial spheres and the sacred geometry that underlies creation. The three arches on this piece can be seen to represent various triplicities that appear throughout mythology. In Hinduism, for example, these could represent the Trimurti: Brahma (the creator), Vishnu (the preserver), and Shiva (the destroyer). Or they could invoke the three Gunas: Sattva (goodness, purity), Rajas (passion, activity), and Tamas (darkness, inertia). In Hindu cosmology, temples are more than just buildings. They are conceived of as the dwelling place of the divine, a point of intersection between the earthly and the heavenly realms. The architecture often incorporates symbolic elements that evoke this cosmic connection. The act of creating a miniature temple within the home can therefore be seen as a way of bringing that divine presence into one’s everyday life.

The Artisan's Touch

The meticulous craftsmanship evident in this piece speaks to the dedication of the artisans who brought it to life. Crafted from solid brass, this structure boasts both durability and a timeless aesthetic. The subtle variations in the finish are not imperfections, but rather the hallmark of a handmade object, each piece imbued with its own unique character.

Dimensions:

10.7 x 8.5 x 5.4 inches. By bringing this piece into your home, you’re not just acquiring a beautiful object; you’re supporting the continuation of traditional artistry and creating a space that resonates with history, spirituality, and profound beauty.

How to keep a Brass statue well-maintained?

Brass statues are known and appreciated for their exquisite beauty and luster. The brilliant bright gold appearance of Brass makes it appropriate for casting aesthetic statues and sculptures. Brass is a metal alloy composed mainly of copper and zinc. This chemical composition makes brass a highly durable and corrosion-resistant material. Due to these properties, Brass statues and sculptures can be kept both indoors as well as outdoors. They also last for many decades without losing all their natural shine.

Brass statues can withstand even harsh weather conditions very well due to their corrosion-resistance properties. However, maintaining the luster and natural beauty of brass statues is essential if you want to prolong their life and appearance.

  • The best and simplest way to maintain a brass statue is to clean it at least twice a week using a soft cloth or cotton rag. This will prevent dust from accumulating on the surface. Dusting is especially important for outdoor statues since it is prone to dust accumulation much more than indoors.

  • To give a natural shine and luster to the statue, you may apply coconut or olive oil using cotton on every portion. You can use a toothbrush to get to the small crevices but do not be too harsh. This will make the brass statue appear fresh and new with a polished look.

  • In case you have a colored brass statue, you may apply mustard oil using a soft brush or clean cloth on the brass portion while for the colored portion of the statue, you may use coconut oil with a cotton cloth.

Brass idols of Hindu Gods and Goddesses are especially known for their intricate and detailed work of art. Nepalese sculptures are famous for small brass idols portraying Buddhist deities. These sculptures are beautified with gold gilding and inlay of precious or semi-precious stones. Religious brass statues can be kept at home altars. You can keep a decorative brass statue in your garden or roof to embellish the area and fill it with divinity.
