A Manifestation of Boundless Compassion

This exquisite brass statue presents a profound and powerful representation of a tantric form of Tara, embodying her multifaceted nature. More than just a beautiful art piece, this sculpture is a tangible connection to the divine feminine, a reminder of compassion, protection, and enlightened wisdom. The fine craftsmanship brings to life a deity deeply revered throughout Tibetan Buddhism and other traditions that invoke the power of the divine feminine. The metal sculpture is a beautiful addition to any home, yoga studio, or meditation space. At 8.0 x 6.0 x 14.5 inches, the statue is a striking centerpiece that will enhance your decor.

The Star That Guides

Tara, whose name translates to "star" in Sanskrit, is far more than just a celestial body. She is the embodiment of enlightened activity, the swift and compassionate response to the suffering of all beings. She is the bodhisattva of compassion, constantly listening to cries for help, and ready to intervene. In Tibetan Buddhism, she is considered the female Buddha. Tara is born from the tears of compassion of Avalokitesvara, as the Bodhisattva wept while looking upon the suffering in the world. From the tears sprang a lotus flower, and from this lotus Tara was born. Represented in various forms, each with unique aspects and purposes, Tara embodies the feminine principle of wisdom and action. Her ability to transcend limitations and provide solace makes her one of the most revered deities in the Buddhist pantheon. She is often portrayed in various colors, each representing a particular aspect or quality. White Tara represents purity and longevity, Green Tara embodies active compassion, and other forms like Red Tara or Black Tara have their own specific attributes and tantric practices associated with them.

Deciphering the Symbolism

The multiple heads on this Tara represent her comprehensive awareness and the ability to perceive reality from multiple perspectives simultaneously. This emphasizes her all-encompassing wisdom and understanding of the interconnectedness of all things. Each face often gazes in a different direction, symbolizing her constant vigilance and her ability to see and respond to the needs of all beings across all realms. Multiple heads also indicate the many different attributes of Tara, and also the multiple realms of existence. The multiple arms indicate Tara's omnipotent reach and her capacity to perform numerous beneficial actions simultaneously. The gesture of each hand and object can have a specific meaning, such as granting refuge, removing obstacles, or bestowing blessings. The gestures are a potent reminder of the active and compassionate nature of Tara. This brass statue is a powerful symbol of refuge, compassion, and enlightened wisdom. It is a reminder to cultivate these qualities within ourselves and to strive for the well-being of all beings.

How to keep a Brass statue well-maintained?

Brass statues are known and appreciated for their exquisite beauty and luster. The brilliant bright gold appearance of Brass makes it appropriate for casting aesthetic statues and sculptures. Brass is a metal alloy composed mainly of copper and zinc. This chemical composition makes brass a highly durable and corrosion-resistant material. Due to these properties, Brass statues and sculptures can be kept both indoors as well as outdoors. They also last for many decades without losing all their natural shine.

Brass statues can withstand even harsh weather conditions very well due to their corrosion-resistance properties. However, maintaining the luster and natural beauty of brass statues is essential if you want to prolong their life and appearance.

  • The best and simplest way to maintain a brass statue is to clean it at least twice a week using a soft cloth or cotton rag. This will prevent dust from accumulating on the surface. Dusting is especially important for outdoor statues since it is prone to dust accumulation much more than indoors.

  • To give a natural shine and luster to the statue, you may apply coconut or olive oil using cotton on every portion. You can use a toothbrush to get to the small crevices but do not be too harsh. This will make the brass statue appear fresh and new with a polished look.

  • In case you have a colored brass statue, you may apply mustard oil using a soft brush or clean cloth on the brass portion while for the colored portion of the statue, you may use coconut oil with a cotton cloth.

Brass idols of Hindu Gods and Goddesses are especially known for their intricate and detailed work of art. Nepalese sculptures are famous for small brass idols portraying Buddhist deities. These sculptures are beautified with gold gilding and inlay of precious or semi-precious stones. Religious brass statues can be kept at home altars. You can keep a decorative brass statue in your garden or roof to embellish the area and fill it with divinity.
