This sari is a combination of a black body and a red border laced with zari both on the border and grids. The body is worked upon by red and white threads, with the peacock and elephant motifs, ensconced within the grids alternately. These motifs are traditional of the Patolas along with the 'paan leaf' and the parrot motif known as 'Popat.'
The border is achieved in red with the elephant motif worked in a sequence. Moreover the border is enclosed within zari lines, making it a synthesis of the Gujarati Patolas and the Southern Zari tradition. The pallav is in contrast to the black body of the sari and is done in red with similar motifs.
This sari is a unique combination of traditional values and comfortable texture.
