Canjeevarams are the age-old sari weaving traditions followed in the temple town of Kanchipuram in the southern state of Tamil Nadu. Woven in the temple town they acquire a special significance. Canjeevaram silks come in different weights of silk, ranging from light to heavy. In the southern part of India they form an unmistakable part of the weddings and other auspicious occasions. The weaves are exquisite and are often woven with pure gold zari threads increasing their value. Indeed Canjeevarams are the pride of south India.

This canjeevaram sari comes in a beautiful black color with small checks in orange color. The sari is quite heavy with a wonderful shine of silk. The border of the sari is woven entirely in zari.

The pallav is rather simple with orange color vertical lines on it.
