This shawl displaying a predominant mix of maroon and black, is a clear shift from the traditional paisley shawls. The field is maroon, shimmering with black undertones. The underside of the shawl shows green threads of weaving which is not prominently visible on the top. The same three colours flow on the border on all four sides. Although the border is narrow on the horizontal side, the pattern remains the same.
The borders consist of diamond shaped (parallelograms) of hues of the combination of field colours. After mixing and matching we have four colour combos which compliment each other. On alternate rows and on alternate parallelograms, there are small paisleys embroidered in satin thread. The embroidery itself is delicate, using subtle colours which makes this shawl a unique piece. By the end of it, the tassels lose the maroon and end up knotted green and black.
More than the colour and design, it is outstanding in its softness that caresses the body of the one who wears it.
