On an aqua-green base of raffal, very fine embroidery in single silk thread beautifies the woven fabric. The field has sparsely scattered butis and a narrow border on all sides. The main pattern occupies the corner space. Diagonally across the corner are squares with floral pattern inside. They are placed as one, three, five and seven squares, forming a triangle at the corner. It ends with the butis of the field forming the last row. At the two ends, the narrow border is accompanied by a frill of small chinar leaves.
Like the weaver, the Kashmiri embroiderer is an artist whose sense of colour and design never flags, as is evident here. He has avoided useless and wasteful decorations, keeping the product within the realm of good taste. The colour and design have infallible harmony and grace which can never fail to please. Worn with a peach or an orange outfit of contrasting colour will add a chromatic brightness to the overall appearance.
