We are really thankful to Kaivalyadhama : Lonav/a for entrusting us with the project of the translation in GujaratJ of the classic book 'Asana : Why And How?', written by Shr O. P. Tiwan, a worthy disciple of Swamj Kuvalayanandaji- the greatest exponent of Pranayama. This invaluable book Asana : Why And How?' has become so popular that it has seen five editions during last two decades. We feel privileged to be associated with Kaivalyadhama : Lonavla. We have been fortunate to have right direction in the field of Pranayama and Asanas by this association. We are indebted to Pujya Shri Maheshanandji, Shi O. P. Tiwariji, Shri Subodh Tiwarriji and Kaivalyadhama : Lonavla as a whole for their incessant support.
We at Project 'Life' have with us a retired professor of Gujarati Prof. N. G. Rajpara, in the capacity of an honorary advisor in the field of publication. He is M. A. with Gujarati and Sanskrit and has taught Gujarati language and literature at graduate and post-graduate level for thirty three years. He has done a commendable job in translating this highly technical book in Gujarati. We are sure that this first edition of Gujarati version of Asana: Why and How?' will definitely cater to the need of Gujarati knowing people who have keen interest in Pranayama and Asanas.
Before this Prof. Rajpara has translated the unique books 'Pranayama' and Asanas' (written by Swami Kuvalayanandaji) in Gujarati which have been published by Kaivalyadhama : Lonavla. We are pleased to note that knowledgeable people have accorded warm welcome to these publications. We hope that this Gujarati version of Asana: Why And How?' will also earn the same response.
Salient feature of this book is that all the stages of all the Asanas have been given in Gujarati and in English as well. By this the reader of this book will be able to apprehend the subject easily.
