Prof. Dr. Chaturbhuja Bhuyan is a renowned name in the field of Ayurveda Science. As a veteran Surgeon of Ayurveda Dr. Bhuyan has devoted his last 30 years in teaching and treating different diseases using wonderful sutras of this Ayurvedic formulas.
Dr. Bhuyan as the Head of the Department Ayurveda Mohavidyalaya, Puri was engaged himself in teaching Graduates and Post graduates and leading them in a right direction and now he is working as professor and head of the department of Shalya tantra in the IPGT and RA. Gujarat Ayurveda University Jamnagar. He is not only circumscribed with the field of Ayurveda but his prolific and outstanding manifold character has accredited him with other engagements also. Dr. Bhuyan was member of Senate and academic Council of Utkal University and also associated with several educational works of different University in the State of Chhatisgarh, Mahdyapradsh, Maharastra, Karnataka, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal etc. His considerable research based on thesis and synaptic topics in Science and Social Welfare has been published in more than hundreds esteemed Oriya & English daily Newspaper and periodicals.
Dr. Bhuyan has participated in many Seminar, Workshops involved by number of National and International Universities / Institutions. His valuable deliberations and outstanding performance in Ayurveda has facilitated him in many ways. Besides, Dr. Bhuyan is recognized specially for establishing Indian Proctology Society and registering it as a Voluntary health Organization. With the help of Government and Non Government Organizations the Society has been rendering health service both in and outside the State.
Dr. Bhuyan was graduated in Ayurveda Science in the year 1975 and followed by his P.G. in 1981 as well as Ph.D. in 1991. He has also achieved many distinguish fellowships from different foreign Institute. His artibution towards extensive research in PCA theraphy, a new concept in Ayurvedic Surgery has bestowed him with many credit.
He is associated with many organizations viz Indian Red cross Society, Indian Cancer Society, International Council of Ayurveda, Orissa Bigyan Academy, ISCKON, Pragnya mission Indian Science Congress, OVHA, CCARRISMA etc.
Ayurved, being India's own system of Medicine is now emerging as a most popular system of Modern Medicine and Surgery. This book "Ayurveda First Aid" written by Prof. Chaturbhuj Bhuyan a renowned teacher and practitioner in the World of Ayurved, who has presented the principles and practice as a particular section which have been drawn not from an isolated school but gathered from his own wide range of re- searches and practices during the last decades.
At present Dr. Bhuyan is working as professor and Head of the department of shalya tantra (Surgery) in the Institute for Post Graduate Teaching And Research in Ayurveda, under Gujarat Ayurveda University at Jamnagar, Gujarat.
Dr. C. Bhuyan was working as Head of the Post Graduate Department of Surgery and Eye, ENT, i.e. Shalya and Shalakya GAM, Puri, Orissa had been also assigned with various administrative responsibilities like Deputy Superintendent of Gopabandhu Ayurvedic Mohavidyalaya, Puri , member of SENATE of Utkal University, Vanivihar, Bhubaneswar, Orissa etc.
Dr. Chaturbhuja Bhuyan, a native of Dayanabil, a Village under Bhuban Police Station, Dist. Dhenkanal, Orissa has now choosen Upper Malisahi of Puri Town, the abode of Lord Jagannath as his place of research in Indian System of Medicine. He did his BAMS Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery in Shalya Shalakya with Honours from Utkal University. He then did his M.D. (Ay) Shalya- IPGT & RA (GAU), Gujurat and Ph.D. (J.S.U.,) Orissa.
Dr. Bhuyan was awarded the fellowship by FIAHPS (I.C.) India, FARCS (IPS) India, FICA (U.S.A.). He has shouldered a number of responsibilities in different capacities for the growth and popularisation of Ayurveda in the State of Orissa and has undertaken research activities especially in the area Proctology. Para Surgery, Orthopedic etc. (Shalya), Eye, ENT (Shalakya), CHM, R.C.H., AIDS, Rasayan and Vajikaran. His areas of specialisation Ksharkarma (PCA), Agnikarm (D.C.) and Rakta Mokshana (B.L.) has made him a man of repute in the profession of teaching, training and treatment. The experience thus gained with so many years of work in the field of Ayurveda has become the source of inspiration to write a large number text books like Netra Chikistsa Vigyan, Nirog Vigyan, Am Swasthya
Am Hathare, Am Ghare Am Aushadha, Malasaya Rog Vigyan, Jaun Roga Vigyan, Sadharan Rogar Prathamika Chikitsa, Primary treatment for common ailments, Text book of Proctology etc. which have immensely helped the students and Public in general and enriched the world of Literature on Ayurveda.
As a regular contributor since 1981 to number of daily Newspapers, Weekly, Fortnightly and monthly Magazines. Dr. Bhuyan has earned name and fame as a popular writer on subjects of Ayurveda not only in Orissa but also in the Country. Taking his profound knowledge in this field into consideration Dr. Bhuyan is being required to render services as a resource person and visiting Professor on ISM, RCH, AIDS, CHM, CME, Environment, Pollution, Re-orientation Program, Parasurgery, Proctology to various Government and Non Government Organisation at Orissa, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Moharastra, Karnataka, Gujurat, Punjab, Haryana etc. and on different capacities by Utkal University, Sambalpur University, Berahmpur University. North Orissa University in State of Orissa, Jiwajee University, Madhyapadesh, Calcutta University, Ravi Sankar University, Chattisgarh, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Science, Karnatak, NTR University of Health Sciences, Andhra Pradesh, NIA Rajsthan University, Gujurat Ayurved University, Punjab University, Keral University, Himachal Pradesh University etc.

Diseases are many. Among them some are common which invade the body and with a less complaints primarily and more in later, needs a primary approach immediately for relif. In this regard nature is a rich store house of regional effective plants, vegetables, animal and mineral resources. Man is the only clever living being that he knows how to use them properly.
Looking to the Present sceniriaoin sector of World health, the research and developmental works, particularly in Indian System of Medicine should have to be taken by the Scientists to Combat the growing health problems not only for the cure of the diseases but also for protection of health of healthy being or both.
Hence, it is an opportunity to prescribe some traditional and medical used single or combined drugs with possible guide- lines for the health and remady of the diseases. Primary treatment can be given then and there, with the help of plentyly available of drugs. Our nature and environment are great dispensary for "First-aid".
