Panchkarma is an integral part of Ayurveda. Although it is not mentioned separately in Ashtang Ayurved but it is used and highly glorified in all the branches of Ayurveda. This book is a humble attempt to put the light on the important questions and topics of Panchkarma which are beneficial not only for Undergraduates, but also for PG, PhD and all Ayurvedic exam aspirants too.
Dr. Mridu Sharma is working as Principal cum Professor in Smt. Urmila Devi Ayurvedic College affiliated to Guru Ravidas Ayurved University Hoshiarpur Punjab. Mridu Sharma has around 10+ years of experience in the field of teaching and clinical practice. Mridu Sharma did her Post graduation from Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik in Panchkarma. Her areas of expertise include but not limited to Panchkarma, Anxiety Neurosis, Psychosomatic disorders, Skin diseases, Degenerative disorders. Dr. Mridu Sharma has been awarded with Dhanwantri Award by Punjab Govt. in 2019. She has been a prominent National and International speaker in various conferences and has authored various articles in National or International journals. Her lecture of Need of Panchkarma in Present Era in TCM conference Berlin was highly appreciated. She is also a member of many National and International Ayurvedic organizations like Aarogyam UK, Nasya, Vishwa Ayurved Parishad. She is a hardworker and a young pioneer of Ayurveda.
At the outset, I congratulate Dr. Mridu Sharma (M.D. Panchkarma), Professor and Principal, Smt. Urmila Devi Ayurvedic College of Medical Sciences & Hospital, V.P.Ο. Kharkan, Una Road, Distt Hoshiarpur for authoring this book "MCQ's on Panchkarma. Now, M.C.Q's on Panchkarma are being added in the B.A.M.S. syllabus and this book will be very helpful to the final year B.A.M.S. students along with P.G. aspirants, Panchkarma P.G. & P.hd Scholars. This will also make understanding the basic concept of Panchkarma and this innovative idea will also inspire other authors to pen down more of such books. I once again congratulate Dr. Mridu Sharma and motivate her to author more such books through this message.
Panchkarma is a very crucial part of clinical Ayurveda. It is not categorized under Ashtang Ayurveda but it is used vividly in all the branches of Ayurveda. In my course of study and teaching I have come across many books written on Classical as well as Practical Panchkarma but I felt that exact knowledge of Panchkarma according to different Acharyas is very less and students generally are not aware of it. I have written this book because it will be easy to memorize different opinions and terminologies if sorted in the form of MCQ's, besides MCQ related books on this very important subject is very less. I have tried to mention all the different opinions by all the known Ayurvedic scholars. This book will benefit the students of final year B.A.M.S, P.G. aspirants, Panchkarma P.G. & PhD. Scholars. This will also be beneficial for examinations for various posts in Ayurvedic field.
