Preface

There is no necessity to say that there is spirature in every language. Many time this simple truth is forgotten and unnecessary misunderanding is created.

In Hindi literature, Surabaya and Tulasidasa are shining stars. Goswami Tulasidasa lived in the sixteenth century. In his lifetime that language had its beginning. Of course, the Ramacharitamanasa is his magnum opus. Literary critics may have different opinions about his poetry. But those who are interested in devotional literature admire his writings for their spiritual worth. He has attracted attention of devotees throughout the would for his direct approach to God. They say that Tulasidasa has created a new path in devotion. Vinayapatrika is a devotional classic. Goswami Tulasidasa conveys the anguish of his heart on being separated from Rama. H4e uses the word RAMA to denote Absolute Brahman, Personal God and Prince of Anybody. Tulasidasa says that Absolute Brahman does not lose. His absoluteness by becoming a human being. He does not prescribe any ritual, does not even say that austerity is necessary. In his opinion a sincere heart can realize God without any difficulty. If sincerity is not there, thousands of performance are of no use. This book is considered to be a classic in devotional literature.
