My humble prostrations at the Lotus Feet of my Guru. It is His grace that I was given the opportunity to edit and write a short forward for the sacred spiritual scripture- Shri Gurucharitra. There is a difference between literature and scripture. The former are human creation, subject to extinction by the passage of time, while the later are divine revelations, and akshara- timeless in their import. Great epics such as Ramyana, Mahabharat, bhagvad gita, 18 puranas, Upanishads, and the compositions of great saints across our mother India are the spiritual gems of Sanatan Dharma Sanskruti.
Swami Vivekananda says- "If there is any land on this earth that can lay claim to be the blessed Punyabhumi (holy land), to be the land to which all souls on this earth must come to account for Karma, the land to which every soul that is wending its way Godward must come to attain its last home, the land where humanity has attained its highest towards gentleness, towards generosity, towards purity, towards calmness, above all, the land of introspection and of spirituality - it is India."
We are extremely fortunarte to be born in this Holy Land-Punyabhoomi Bharat. Scriptures have declared unanimously that human birth, burning desire for God Realization and satsang of saints are very rare.

The Shree Guru Charitra is believed to be authored by Shree Saraswati Gangadhar in the 15th century. Born in Karnataka, India, Shree Saraswati Gangadhar was a devout follower of Shree Narasimha Saraswati and an enlightened soul. His extensive efforts in compiling the teachings and miraculous deeds of Shree Guru were guided by divine inspiration, making the book a literary and spiritual masterpiece that has endured over centuries.
The narrative offers an authentic glimpse into India's spiritual heritage while rooted in the Vedantic principles of Advaita (non-dualism). The tales in the scripture describe the unwavering dedication and surrender of devotees, the Guru's guiding interventions, and His ability to dispel sufferings with compassion and grace.
The book is divided into 52 chapters, each filled with anecdotes, teachings, traditions, and miracles performed by Shree Guru. These chapters are organized to evoke progressive spiritual understanding in the reader, from devotion and surrender to deeper philosophical concepts. Central to the book is the description of Shree Guru's life-His deeds, teachings, interactions with disciples, and His promise to guide devotees even after His physical disappearance.
