Book Description
Preface

Just as Satyavati's son alone is popularly known as Vyasa; Gautama Buddha as the Buddha, Sri Rama Krishna is familiar as the Paramahamsa.

Even in my childhood I used to feel excited at the very thought of Sri Rama Krishna Paramahamsa for reasons unknown. Such is the magnetism of his unique personality which has revolutionized man's spiritual life and Sadhana. Having reached dizzy heights of mystic experiences he was very near and accessible to the common man and average aspirant, with his message of Paritapa (intensive longing) for God and toleration of which his life itself is an experiment and example, inspiring us even to this day. Blessed indeed are those who are dead but not gone!

I have therefore chosen to express in my own humble way my adoration to this spiritual giant of our age in the form of this poetical work in Sanskrit "Sri Paramahamsah" with a desire to realize myself. For self-expression characterizes Self-realization, too. A temple of Sri Ramakrishna in Tirupati came up by the time this work was completed. A pleasant coincidence it is, personally for me.

Sanskrit, apart from being the language of my profession of teaching, is a medium no less popular than any other language; and hence this work of mine is not any more difficult to follow and appreciate than any vernacular classic usually replete with Sanskrit.
