This tall, fair, gracile monk with melodious voice, handsome look and radiant appearance hailed from a venerable vaishnava family. Since boyhood he was fond of meditation. His youth was remarkable with freedom fighting against the British. Later he came in contact with Srijukteswer Giri, his Guru in the Kriyayoga School. For his excellence in Kriyayoga ultimately he was enthroned, like Paramahansa Yogananda, as a Kriya master. He established several Spiritual institutions or Ashrams, authored several books and took responsibility of teaching kriyayoga. He was born on the first saturday of Baisakh, 1302, as per Bengali calender. He took mahasamadhi on the 15th day of Shravan, 1391, as per Bengali Calender. We are grateful to this great sage for offering us a great Kriyayogi like Swami Sadhanananda Giri. While came September 1951. Drew first breath on the day of auspicious autumnal Mahashtami. chanting the verses of Srimadbhagbat Gita for the first time after upanayana across the sloka ananyascinta-yenta mam ye janah paryupasate /tesham nityabhiyuktanam yogakshemam vahamyaham'. The holy God takes upon himself the entire responsibility of one who is exclusively devoted! It stirred him strongly. The result: departure from home in search of Truth. Wandering about for days and months in this or that part of the country he came in contact with Swami Bhabananda Giri, who took him under his arms. Now started crossing the stages of yogic sublimity one after another. Within a very short period reached the final goal. After self-realisation started the life of Acharyea. To cater the needs of practitioners of yoga he has aurthored several books, which claim permanent importance in the world of theology. This recluse of highest order has abandoned his physical frame on 11th July, 2018.
