The Collection of poems contained in this book are a tribute to the T nobility of man in India, US, UK and Singapore, the great countries with which I had the privilege to be associated with during my long professional career spanning now 51 years.
The Vedic Civilization of India has nurtured my soul, inspired and shaped me as a man of conscience devoted unconditionally in the service of Divine. The divine character of creation and the quest for immortality, during otherwise a perishable existence is unique to India's spiritual civilisation. Truth, non-violence, peace, Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, the world is one global family and its firm faith in oneness of divinity are the best gifts of Indian Vedic mind to the humanity.
The US, the mightiest nation in the world and a great democratic power has been developed by the genius of man and is the finest example of what can be achieved through statesmanship, with the will of the people and the vision of its leadership. The efforts of noble souls like George Washington, Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King Jr have created an abiding faith in freedom, equality, liberty, diversity and unity. I have been a great admirer of these noble souls and am of the firm view that nobility, creativity and ingenuity of man can only find its fullest of expression in the freedom that provides liberty with responsibility and accountability.
The UK that enriched my mind profusely during my long association since 1973, when I first went to Birmingham for higher studies at the University of Birmingham and the continued association during my days at IIT Delhi, DCE, DTU and Amity has further inspired me align my scientific and technological acumen to the service of man and Mother Nature.
The Singapore where both my sons, Anurag and Aurbind have studied and have worked, also inspired me greatly that the power of technology can create a great nation and its responsible citizenship. It also convinced me that technology is a great friend so long as the people who use it are men and women of integrity and ethics.
The collection of poems presented herein were partly composed during my visit to US in June 2016 and more have been added on return to India including some of the recent ones that reflect my thoughts on the plights of migrant workers who have been badly hit by the loss of jobs and by the apathy of their employers during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The inspiration to writing these poems was in fact derived from my Himalayan poet friend Mr Yuyutsu Sharma to whom I am deeply indebted. Dr HK Jha, my friend and Professor here at Amity University edited my poems and that helped me to be on track of the contemporary style of writings.
I offer this collection of my poems to the current and future generations of youth with a deep sense of my responsibility to create a compassionate humanity and a global society committed to peace, harmony and peaceful coexistence.
