There are mainly four important books in Islam. These holy books or scriptures are believed by the Muslims to be authored by Allah (the Almighty) through various Prophets or messengers for the welfare of human society. The Quran is regarded as the central religious book of Islam. It is believed to be a revelation from Allah Himself to Prophet Muhammad.
Another major book in Islam is the Torah or Tawrat which is considered to have been given by God to the Prophets amongst the children of Israel. The Zabur, the third holy book, is mentioned in the Quran as being the book of Psalms. The fourth book, the Injil, according to the Quran, is the original gospel given to Jesus as the word of Allah.
The central teaching of Islam is the oneness of God (Allah) who is the source of everything and everyone. Some questions to ask about Islam for anyone interested in it would be: If God has created everything animate and inanimate, and form and formless, why does He not have a form? What is the purpose of worshiping Allah? Does Islam promote polygamy? What is the role or position of women in Islam? What are the beliefs of Muslims towards people of other religions? Which regulative principles do Muslims follow?
Although there are many holy books in Islam, the Quran is the most revered scripture. It is considered to be a revelation of Allah to the final Prophet Muhammad. It is organized into 114 chapters (Surah) which are structured into verses (Ayat) in the Arabic language.
The Quran is regarded as the ultimate guide of human society. Respect for the written text of the Quran is an important element of worship in Islam. Other than the Quran, the Tawrat, the Injeel, and the Zabur are considered holy books in Islam.
Reading books regularly holds immense importance in Islam. Books impart knowledge and make you feel closer to Islam and Allah. It is believed that taking knowledge from authentic Islamic books is an essential part of developing deep faith in Allah.

Reading authentic books daily is the most important activity in Islam. It is believed that reading and learning from Islamic books is a sign of a Muslim. Therefore, seeking knowledge is an obligation upon Muslims. There are many verses in the Quran that mention the importance of reading such as:
“Read in the Name of your Lord who created; Created man from a clinging mass. Read, and your Lord is the most generous, who taught by the pen, taught man what he did not know.” (96: 1-5) It is also believed that reading Islamic books will help us understand the religious rules and laws that are important to know.
It is very important to read authentic Islamic books and not just any book written by anyone. The most important holy book of Islam is the Quran which was revealed by Allah Himself to the final Prophet Muhammad in written form. Not a single word or letter has been or can be changed in the Quran.
It is considered the complete and final message of Allah and is therefore recommended to Muslims for its regular reading. The other category of knowledge that every Muslim reads is the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (the written form is called Hadith). Some authentic books of Hadith are Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, Sunan Abi Dawud, Jami’ at-Tirmidhi, Sunan An Nasa’i, and Sunan Ibn Majah.
There are many authentic books recommended to read in Islam. It is believed those who read Islamic books daily are true Muslims. There are mainly two categories of knowledge to obtain in Islam. The first is the knowledge of Allah and the religious rules and laws. This is mentioned in the Quran which is the holy book of Islam.
It is revered as the final message of Allah and was revealed to Prophet Muhammad by Allah Himself. According to Muslims, reading the Quran is the most important part of growing in spirituality. The other six books are based on the teachings of Prophet Muhammad. These are Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, Sunan Abi Dawud, Jami’ at-Tirmidhi, Sunan An Nasa’i, and Sunan Ibn Majah.
