This manifestation embodies Shiva's power to overcome ignorance and the ego, represented by the rampaging elephant. The tale behind this form speaks of a time when a powerful demon, assuming the form of an elephant, terrorized the sages. Shiva, in his infinite compassion, engaged the demon in fierce combat. Ultimately, Shiva subdued the elephant, flaying its skin and adorning himself with it as a testament to his victory over primal ignorance and the cycle of destruction. This victory symbolizes the triumph of divine knowledge over ignorance and the liberation of the soul from the clutches of ego.
