Shiva and Parvati are said to be the parents of Ganesha, even though the birth of the elephant faced god is mainly a manifestation. Shiva and Parvati do not come together to give birth to Ganesha, but allow the unmanifested to manifest itself.

In this unique brass statue we see an eight armed Ganesha kneeling in obeisance before a Shiva linga, guarded by a serpent. Besides kneeling, he also folds his hands in front of him and raises his trunk to salute the great god Shiva. He wears a simple conical crown with a circular prabhavali. In his six hands he holds attributes of various gods. His eyes are placed in a slanting position and his holds the crescent moon on the middle of his forehead. He was so devoted to his parents that when they asked Ganesha and Kartikeya to go around the earth, Ganesha circum-ambulated around his parents and conveyed that they meant the world to him.

Here he worships the aniconic image of Shiva. The yoni-bhaga is circular with a stunted linga arising out of it. The linga has the three horizontal marks. The serpents associated with Shiva forms a canopy atop the linga. The Shiva linga and the image of Ganesha worshipping it, is placed on a voluminous but a simple rectangular base.
