The Remover of Obstacles

This intricately crafted brass statue depicts the beloved deity Ganesha, a symbol of wisdom, prosperity, and good fortune. Ganesha, the elephant-headed god, is one of the most widely worshipped deities in the Hindu pantheon. He is known as the remover of obstacles ("Vighnaharta") and the god of beginnings, and is thus invoked at the start of any new venture, journey, or ceremony. It is said that Ganesha was created by Parvati, the consort of Lord Shiva, using turmeric paste from her body. He was tasked with guarding the entrance to her abode while she bathed. When Shiva returned, Ganesha, not recognizing him, prevented him from entering. Enraged, Shiva severed Ganesha's head. Parvati, devastated, demanded that her son be brought back to life. Shiva, remorseful, ordered his attendants to bring the head of the first creature they found facing north. They returned with the head of an elephant, which Shiva attached to Ganesha's body, thus resurrecting him.

Auspicious Seating

The statue shows Ganesha comfortably seated upon a beautifully detailed double-petalled lotus throne. The lotus, a sacred flower in Hinduism and Buddhism, represents purity, enlightenment, and spiritual awakening. Rooted in mud, it rises above the murky waters to bloom in pristine beauty, symbolizing the journey of the soul from ignorance to enlightenment. The double-layered petals of the lotus throne highlight the layered nature of existence and the multifaceted qualities of divine grace that Ganesha bestows. The rich texture of the brass lends the statue a timeless quality, evoking the ancient traditions from which it originates. The statue's miniature scale makes it a perfect addition to any home altar, puja room, or meditation space, offering a tangible connection to the divine presence of Ganesha. His presence is a constant reminder to approach life's challenges with wisdom, courage, and unwavering faith. The intricate details, from his trunk to his large ears, are a testament to the craftsmanship, ensuring it is not merely an object of reverence but also a work of art to be appreciated for years to come. Invite the blessings of Lord Ganesha into your life and let his divine presence guide you on the path to success and fulfillment.
