Woven in pink satin thread and zari, this brocade stole is a piece de resistance. The traditional paisley and floral design gives way to animals like camels and elephants. The camel is predominantly displayed, caparisoned and in finery. Beneath him is a palm tree showing his connectivity with the desert. The elephant, also caparisoned, raises his trunk and walks in the opposite direction. The spaces between each animal is occupied by flowers and leaves on delicate stems. It makes a harmonious combination of foliage and animals. The base has more of pink and the animals are almost in zari but for pure pink outlines.
The horizontal border consists of geometric and floral design. The vertical border has the traditional Benarasi frill or the jhalas on both sides of the border which has a meandering stem with flowers, leaves and buds. In this stole, the traditional has blended well with the contemporary and opened up new vistas for the weavers of today.
