The fashion market for shawls in India has endured as an elegant dress tradition not only in India but Kashmir shawls also hold their own internationally too. There are three main categories of natural wool used in Kashmir: raffle, pashmina and shahtus. Today almost all common woollen shawls are woven from raffle, a machine spun wool, derived from merino sheep. Somethings never change: like the quality of Kashmir shawls.
