Srikant Verma


Indian dramatist and poet in Hindi, Srikant Verma, was well-known in his country. He was born in Haryana and subsequently lived in Mumbai for a sizable portion of his life. In the 1950s and 1960s, the Nayi Kavita (New Poetry) movement first appeared in Hindi literature, and Verma is regarded as one of its leading players.


Numerous honours have been given to Srikant Verma in recognition of his services to Hindi literature, including the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1995 for his poetry collection "Akaal Mein Saras." In the Hindi-speaking world, his literary legacy is still inspiring and influencing modern poets and readers.
