Art And Aesthetics of Rabindranath Tagore
Art And Aesthetics of Rabindranath Tagore
Description
About the Book

Aesthetics is out and out philosophy and as such any dissertation claiming to have kinship with aesthetics needs to be out and out philosophical. Exactly this is the key point here in this monograph. Tagore's standing has been sought to be understood purely from this point of view. Benedetto Croce is a listless crusader on this path. The author here has taken to crocean line in furthering the cause of purely aesthetic approach to the definition, meaning and accepted classification of fine arts as suggested by the Indian concept of Pancapradipa or Hegelian concept of art in its five-fangled ramification.

The book is a departure from the usual big bodied bizarre books dishing out non-aesthetic propositions in the name of art and aesthetics.

About the Author

The Author has been an arduous student of aesthetics for long. His teachers include Dr. Surendranath Dasgupta, Professor Humayun Kabir, & Dr. Sushil Kumar Moitra and Dr. Nandi's book entitled 'Studies in Modern Indian Aesthetics'was published by Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Shimla, 'An Enquiry into the Nature and Function of Art' (2nd edn.) by Calcutta University, 'Art & Aesthetics of Abanindranath Tagore' by Rabindra Bharati University, 'Aesthetics of Romain Rolland' by R.K. Mission Institute of Culture, Calcutta. His noted work in Bengali 'Nandantattwa' (4th edn.) was published by the West Bengal State Book Board. His 'Rabindra Darsan Anvikshan' (2nd edn.), 'An Analysis of Tagore's Philosophical Position' was published by Rabindra Bharati University.

Dr. Nandi is a past President of Indian Philosophical Congress, All India Educational Conference, and International Society of Education through Art (Asian Conference-Japan).

He traveled widely lecturing in different Universities and Research Institutes in America, England, Japan, Australia, Germany and Bangladesh.

Namaste, This painting was delivered a little while ago. The entire package was soaking wet inside and out. But because of the extra special care you took to protect it, the painting itself is not damaged. It is beautiful, and I am very happy to have it. But all is well now, and I am relieved. Thank you!
Janice, USA
I am writing to convey my gratitude in the service that you have provided me. We received the painting of the 10 gurus by Anup Gomay on the 2nd January 2019 and the painting was packaged very well. I am happy to say that the recipient of the gift was very very happy! The painting is truly stunning and spectacular in real life! Thank you once again for all your help that you provided.
