About the Book

Buddhism and Islam, both are world religions as the teaching of both are embraced by the people of all geographical regions of the earth in spite of derivation in their social and cultural backgrounds. Both have universal appeal and both aim at the complete salvation and perfection of human personalities. The founder of both these world religions were historic figure. In spite of a big gap of time the background of the origins of these religions were also similar. Both tried to expose the futility of ceremonial method of purifications as well as the way of hedonism. In both there is clear emphasis on the ethical purity and on the development of universal friendliness. The Buddha and the Prophet Mohammad both propagated the brotherhood of all human beings. Thus in many respect there are striking resembleness in both these leading thoughts of religion.
I hope that this publication will be useful for the scholars and students and create new interest in the young researchers to unfold several aspects of Buddhism and Islam.
