The Great Betrayal depicts the tragic consequences of the policies of racial and social discrimination prevalent in ancient India. The Supreme Sacrifice is set in medieval Rajasthan. The saga of the Rajputs and their many feats of heroism, courage and sacrifice are vividly depicted in this play. Rani Roopmati recereates the poignant love story of Roopmati and Baaz Bahadur in the kingdom of Malwa, Madhya Pradesh.

Swapna Dutta has been writing for children for the last three decades and has over forty books to her credit. She ha received various awards for her work including a National Fellowship and has presented papers at national and international conferences.
