Bundi style of painting has always enjoyed a special place of pride and dignity in the art museums of the world. It is a sub-school of Rajasthani art but has its own distinct art style.

This painting affords a delightful view of feminine beauty. As she walks back after meeting her lover, she suddenly turns her head to see if she has left any tell tale signs behind. She adjusts her odhini as she looks back. The lissome beauty is short, has a slender body, a delicate face with a prominent forehead, narrow almond shaped eyes and a receding chin. She wears a lehanga of a thick material, a very short choli coming up to the breast line and a transparent odhini that covers the back of her head, conceals yet reveals her long, dark tresses. Ornaments adds to her beauty. There is a lyrical movement in the female figure.

The artist here refrains from using too many colours. He uses microscopic lines with a single hair brush with great skill and maturity. This method is called 'pardaz' in the artistic world. Pardaz or gossamer of lines was a particular device applied around the form to produce the three dimensional effect. The workmanship of this miniature is precise and the line carefully controlled.
