What is the oldest Hindu text?

Vedas are considered the oldest sacred text in Hinduism. The Sanskrit word “Veda” refers to complete knowledge, both material and spiritual. The Vedas are divided into four books, Rig Veda, Sama Veda, Yajur Veda, and Atharva Veda.

The Vedas are called “Apaurusheya”, which means that these are not man-made but have originated directly from the Supreme Personality of Godhead Krishna. Later on, these were compiled by Vyasadev, the Supreme authority on Vedic knowledge, which was then passed down through disciplic succession (Guru Parampara).

How to read the Bhagavad Gita as it is in the Hindi edition?

The Bhagavad Gita as It Is has been written by the Founder-Acharya of ISKCON, A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada. It contains all 700 verses, structured into 18 chapters, of the original Bhagavad Gita.

Additionally, it also offers the Hindi translation and the purport (explanation) of all Sanskrit Shlokas that emphasize the path of devotion to the Supreme Lord Krishna. The right way to read Bhagavad Gita as It Is to begin with “Bhoomika” (Introduction) and then go to each chapter, first reading the verse, then the Hindi translation, and then finally its purport.

I want to read Bhagavad Gita in Hindi. Which one should I read?

If you are a beginner and want to read Bhagavad Gita in Hindi, the essence of all Vedic knowledge, you should opt for buying “श्रीमद्भगवद्गीता: यथारूप- Srimad Bhagavad Gita: As It Is” by A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada.

The specialty of this edition is that it describes all 700 original Sanskrit texts of the original Bhagavad Gita, their word-to-word meanings, Hindi translations, and purports. The explanation of each verse is coming from the authorized Parampara system (disciplic succession) and therefore, it is known as “As It Is”, without any adulteration or mental concoction.
